Panoramic Photography is also known as wide format photography! The term Panorama literally means "all sight" in Greek and it first originated from painters that wanted to capture a wide view of a landscape, not just a certain part of it. In Panoramic Photography the field of view is similar to what the human eye is accustomed to seeing. When we look at a normal photo we know that it is like looking at the world through a window, and we are only seeing part of what we would see if we were there.
I have started to include at least one panoramic photo in each photo shoot that I do so people can really relate to the environment they were in at the time. The panoramic photo below Carrie took in San Francisco on Arlington Street where her Aunt Snookie lives!! Snookies house is the one with the beautiful red bougainvillea in front of it!!

Jennifer has viewed her photos and is ecstatic for their next photo session!! Carrie is just scratching the surface of the creations that she can make with her camera underwater!
How To Prepare Yourself For Their Special Day!!
There are so many different dynamics in photographing weddings that it is imperative to be very prepared for their BIG Day! With my 10 years of experience photographing weddings I have discovered that not only am I the photographer but I also play many different roles throughout the day!
Other things that I look out for are hair ties on wrists, glasses that need to be taken off, make sure all groomsmen have their boutonnieres on correctly. The more detail oriented you are the better the photos. Also if the bride and groom need water or need to talk to someone I take the initiative and just do it.
Last weekend the groom stepped in a massive amount of tar during our bride and groom photo session. He was wearing white converse and the tar was everywhere on the outside and bottom of his shoe. We finished the photo shoot and there was a small window of time before they had their grand entrance. I took his shoe went into the kitchen scrubbed peanut butter then mayonnaise on the side of his shoe and managed to get ALL the tar off where it would be visible for photos. If you don't do it no one will!! So for the grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet and guarder toss he had white shoes which made a huge difference in the photos! Every little detail counts.
There is so much more that goes into it but these are the main things I focus on. Weddings are known to be high pressure and stressful for photographers but I LOVE it!! Also I love being part of the bride and grooms day and helping them out!!
Carrie Takes The Kimball Family Back In Time
If there is one consistent aspect of Carrie's career, it's her creative approach to every shoot she does. As Carrie likes to say "no two shoots are ever alike." In late 2015, Carrie took a traditional "family shoot" and elevated it to a timeless work of art by recreating a 1920's vintage theme with the Kimball family. Finding a perfect location, directing the family to be in character and composing the images in an effective way successfully took the Kimball family back in time.
Pay It Forward
Carrie recently was the featured artist at Moulton Elementary School at the "Reflections Arts Contest" where she presented to the students her artwork and her journey of becoming an artist. Check out the photos below of Carrie presenting her art to the students and working with them to help begin their journey of expressing themselves through art. As Carrie said, "Who better to inspire than a group of kids!!"
